MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647040667 A) filed by Gyrus Acmi, Inc. D/B/A Olympus Surgical Technologies America, Westborough, U.S.A., on March 31, for 'endoscope auto-feed system.'
Inventor(s) include Baker, Charles A; Bloem, David; Batchelor, Kester Julian; and Leak, David M.
The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An auto-feed system for controlling a position of an elongated device in a working channel of an endoscope may include a drive motor which may be coupled to a drive wheel. The drive wheel may interface with the elongated device such that the elongated device at least one of axially inserts or axially retracts when the drive wheel rotates. The auto-feed system may also include a sensor, which may be configured to generate a signal indicative of an axial position of the elongated device in the working channel."
The patent application was internationally filed on Sept. 18, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/047264.
