MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517051898 A) filed by Guangdong Oppo Mobile Telecommunications Corp. Ltd., Guangdong, China, on May 29, for 'encoding method, decoding method, code stream, encoders, decoders, and storage medium.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed in the embodiments of the present application are an encoding method, a decoding method, a code stream, encoders, decoders, and a storage medium. The decoding method comprises: determining a reference block of the current block, wherein the reference block is a neighboring block of the current block; when a prediction mode of a second color component of the reference block meets a first condition, determining a reference intra-frame prediction mode parameter according to the reference block; and determining a predicted value of a second color component of the current block according to the reference intra-frame prediction mode parameter. In this way, the completeness and diversity of an intra-frame chroma prediction mode can be improved according to a reference intra-frame prediction mode parameter, such that the accuracy of intra-frame chroma prediction can be improved, and the encoding and decoding efficiency can also be improved, thereby improving the encoding and decoding performance."
