MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541126523 A) filed by The Principal, K. S. R. College Of Engineering, Tiruchengode, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 14, 2025, for 'enabling the efficiency of concrete using cfrp composites.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a method and system for enabling the efficiency of concrete structures using Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer composites. CFRP sheets, laminates, strips, rods, or wraps are externally bonded or near-surface mounted onto concrete members to enhance flexural strength, shear resistance, axial confinement, ductility, and durability. The method includes surface preparation, application of CFRP composites using compatible adhesives, and performance validation through structural testing. The invention provides a lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and sustainable strengthening solution for rehabilitation, retrofitting, and upgrading of concrete infrastructure."
