MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018212 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 13, 2024, for 'emergency evacuation assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Pankaj Kumar Goswami.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An emergency evacuation assistive device, comprising an extendable frame 1 arranged with a pair of C-shaped extendable members 2 to be hooked with railing of balcony, a microphone 3 installed on one of members 2 enabled for user's voice commands, a microcontroller linked with microphone 3 for processing signals from components, a laser sensor 4 installed on each member's 2 determines width of railing, an ultrasonic sensor 5 determines the gap between ground surface and extendable frame 1 further extends and position on the ground, a camera 6 mounted on the members 2 captures user's images to detect the user's height and the emergency situation, several plates 7 initially placed in first portion of the frame 1 connected via motorized sliders 8 for translating the plates 7 away from each other and allowing use to descend from the balcony in emergency situations."
