MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025248 A) filed by Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., New Delhi, on March 28, 2024, for 'emergency braking system integrated into main braking system of vehicle.'

Inventor(s) include Manish Mishra.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An emergency braking system integrated into a main braking system of a vehicle (V), includes a brake pedal position sensor (S1), a piezoelectric sensor (S2), a fluid pressure unit (20), and a fluid modulator (30). The brake pedal position sensors (S1) and the piezoelectric sensor (S2) may be positioned on a brake pedal (BP). The fluid pressure unit (20) may be coupled to the brake pedal (BP). The fluid modulator (30) may be fluidly coupled to the fluid pressure unit (20) and wheel brakes (WB). The fluid modulator (30) includes fluid supply lines (36) extending from the fluid pressure unit (20) and coupled to the respective wheel brakes (WB), fluid return lines (38) extending from the respective fluid supply line and coupled to a fluid reservoir (32) and auxiliary fluid lines (40) extending from the respective fluid supply line and coupled to each respective wheel brake (WB). Each auxiliary fluid line (40) is configured to store the fluid at high pressure and includes a non-return valve (42) configured to block reverse flow of the stored fluid and a solenoid valve (44) operated by a control unit (100) to supply the high pressurized stored fluid to the respective wheel brake to apply brakes on the wheels (W) of the vehicle (V)."
