MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202537063210 A) filed by Saic Gm Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd., Guangxi, China, on July 2, for 'emergency braking mode activating method and apparatus, and medium.'
Inventor(s) include Liang, Yongbin; Liu, Kaiyong; Lan, Hua; Fu, Guang; and Lin, Zhigui.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Embodiments of the present application provide an emergency braking mode activating method and apparatus, and a medium. The emergency braking mode activating method comprises the following steps: acquiring n times of vehicle surrounding information within a first period, and on the basis of the n times of vehicle surrounding information, determining a frequency that a vehicle is in a scenario with complex road conditions, wherein n is an integer greater than 0; if the frequency that the vehicle is in the scenario with complex road conditions reaches a preset frequency threshold, updating a frequency for activation for the scenario with complex road conditions; and acquiring the frequency for activation for the scenario with complex road conditions within a second period, and if the frequency for activation for the scenario with complex road conditions within the second period reaches a first preset threshold, activating an emergency braking mode, wherein the second period comprises at least one first period. Therefore, whether the vehicle is in an emergency condition can be determined on the basis of road conditions of surrounding areas of the vehicle within multiple periods, reducing the risk of a brake assist system accidentally activating the emergency braking mode."
The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 06, 2023, under International application No.PCT/CN2023/136854.
