MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311088271 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 22, 2023, for 'emergency assistance system for four-wheelers.'

Inventor(s) include Nitin Tomar; Rohit Kumar; Garima Thakur; and Akarshan Jangid.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An emergency assistance system for four-wheelers, comprises of a sensing module 1 installed on front portion of a four-wheeler to detect speed, angle as well as distance of four-wheeler with four-wheelers, a processing unit to evaluate probability of collision four-wheeler with severity of four-wheeler's accident, multiple air bags to deploy and encounter collision/accident, an imaging unit 2 to detect injuries to occupants of four-wheeler, a GPS to determine location of the vehicle, a processing unit to fetch a nearest emergency medical clinic for providing medical assistance to the occupants, a speaker 3 to notify the occupants regarding damage and injuries caused due to the accident, an ECU of four-wheeler to monitor four-wheeler's sensors, components along with level of engine oil and fuel within the four-wheeler and a communication module to notify a user to maintain the vehicle."
