MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133937 A) filed by Ifet College Of Engineering, Viluppuram, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 31, 2025, for 'electronic safety helmet system for underground coal mine workers with multi-parameter monitoring and emergency alerts.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An electronic safety helmet system [102] for underground coal mine workers is disclosed, comprising a gas sensing unit [104], a temperature and humidity sensing unit [106], and an ambient light sensing unit [108] operatively coupled to a processing and control unit [110]. The system includes an emergency switch [112], an audible alert unit [114], and a visual alert unit [116] for providing immediate local warning upon detection of hazardous conditions and/or manual distress activation. A location tracking unit [118] provides worker location information during emergency situations. A wireless communication module [120] and a cellular communication module [122] transmit critical monitoring data and alert messages to a monitoring station [124] and a user interface device [126] for remote supervision and timely response."
