MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517097662 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on Oct. 10, for 'electronic device for performing data communication, and operating method thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Various embodiments of the present invention relate to a device and method for scheduling a data communication link in an electronic device. The electronic device comprises a communication circuit and a processor, wherein the processor may: configure an NDP for data communication, based on first scheduling information, with an external electronic device included in a NAN cluster; store information related to the NDP on the basis of switching to a low-power mode associated with the NDP connection; maintain synchronization with the external electronic device on the basis of the second scheduling information that is different from the first scheduling information; and, in the case of performing data communication with the external device, perform data communication with the external device through the NDP to the external electronic device on the basis of the information related to the NDP. Other embodiments may also be possible."
