MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517079626 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on Aug. 22, for 'electronic device comprising hinge device.'
Inventor(s) include Cho, Sunggun; Kim, Jongkeun; Baik, Jinwook; Seo, Wonyoung; Choi, Sooyeon; and Yoo, Minwoo.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An electronic device, according to various embodiments, comprises: a first housing; a second housing; at least one hinge device that connects the first housing and the second housing so as to be foldable from a first state to a second state; a first wing plate coupled to the hinge device; a second wing plate coupled to the hinge device; a first center bar rotatably disposed with respect to the first wing plate; a second center bar rotatably disposed with respect to the second wing plate; and a flexible display disposed so as to be supported by the first and second housings, the first and second wing plates, and the first and second center bars in the first state, wherein the first center bar and the second center bar may be operated so as to correspond to the first wing plate and the second wing plate, respectively, up to a third state between the first state and the second state, and each of the first center bar and the second center bar may be operated so as to have a rotation angle different from that of the first wing plate and the second wing plate from the third state to the second state."
