MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621004171 A) filed by Sage University, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on Jan. 15, for 'electronic device and method for real-time food nutrition and quality monitoring.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An electronic device (100) for real-time food nutrition and quality monitoring comprises an imaging device (102), a load cell (106) integrated with a weighing platform (104), a gas sensor array (108), and a hardware processor (110). The hardware processor (110) obtains image data, weight data, and gas sensor data from the respective devices. The hardware processor (110) segments food items into individual items based on the image data and weight data, identifies each item through fusion of the image data and corresponding weight data portions, determines nutritional content for each item, and generates nutrition information and a quality indicator based on the determined nutritional content and gas sensor data for pre-consumption dietary assessment."
