MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621010005 A) filed by Sage University, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on Jan. 30, for 'electronic device and method for contactless gesture-based digital illustration.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Prashant Jain; Prof. Snehlata Mishra; Dr. Ritu Tandon; and Kushagra Neekhra.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An electronic device (100) for contactless gesture-based digital illustration generation comprises an inertial measurement unit (102), a proximity sensor (104), a motion camera (106), and a hardware processor (108). The hardware processor (108) fuses signals from the inertial measurement unit (102), the proximity sensor (104), and the motion camera (106) using a filtering algorithm that merges inertial data, proximity data, and motion data within 1-5 milliseconds latency to generate a stabilized gesture trajectory at 95 percent trajectory stability. The hardware processor (108) interprets the stabilized gesture trajectory using a trained artificial neural network model to identify a gesture pattern corresponding to an illustration element within 10-15 milliseconds inference time. The hardware processor (108) reconstructs incomplete gesture pattern segments by inspecting 1-2 seconds gesture history using a predictive stroke reconstruction model. The hardware processor (108) generates a vector illustration output with 0.2-5 pixels stroke thickness based on the identified gesture pattern."
