MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517052069 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on May 29, for 'electronic device, and power control method based on plurality of batteries in electronic device.'

Inventor(s) include Kim, Heetae; Kim, Minsu; and Bae, Chanjung.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An electronic device according to one embodiment comprises: a first battery; a second battery; a charging circuit; a first fuel gauge that is connected to the first battery and the charging circuit, monitors usage status information associated with the first battery, and includes a first switch for charging or discharging the first battery; and a second fuel gauge that is connected to the second battery and the charging circuit, monitors usage status information associated with the second battery, and includes a second switch for charging or discharging the second battery, wherein the processor may be configured to control the first fuel gauge to provide power from the first battery to at least one first electrical component through the first switch, and control the second fuel gauge to provide power from the second battery to at least one second electrical component through the second switch."
