MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421076309 A) filed by Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited, Maharashtra, on Oct. 8, 2024, for 'electromagnetic mount for internal combustion engine and method of dampening vibrations therefrom.'
Inventor(s) include Sandip Hazra; Sarang Naik; and Vishwas More.
The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An electromagnetic mount (104) for an internal combustion engine (102) and a method (600) of dampening vibrations therefrom is disclosed. The electromagnetic mount (104) includes a permanent magnet (206) coupled to a bolt (202) supporting the internal combustion engine (102). The permanent magnet (206) may be configured to generate a change in a first magnetic field resulted due to vibrations received from the internal combustion engine (102). The electromagnetic mount (104) further includes an electromagnetic coil (304) configured to generate a second magnetic field opposite to the first magnetic field. The second magnetic field may be configured to repel the first magnetic field to dampen vibrations from the internal combustion engine (102)."
