MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517074242 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Aug. 4, for 'electrode assembly, cylindrical battery cell, and battery pack and vehicle comprising same.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed are an electrode assembly, a cylindrical battery cell, and a battery pack and a vehicle comprising same. The electrode assembly is a jelly roll-type electrode assembly having a structure in which first and second electrode plates having a sheet shape and a separator interposed therebetween are wound in one direction, wherein at least one of the first and second electrode plates includes an uncoated portion on a long side end that is not coated with an active material layer. At least a portion of the uncoated portion is used as an electrode tab. In addition, the uncoated portion includes a core-side uncoated portion adjacent to a core of the electrode assembly, an outer circumference-side uncoated portion adjacent to the outer circumferential surface of the electrode assembly; and a middle uncoated portion interposed between the core-side uncoated portion and the outer circumference-side uncoated portion. Preferably, at least one of the core-side uncoated portion and the outer circumference-side uncoated portion has a relatively smaller height in the winding axis direction than the middle uncoated portion."
