MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517072576 A) filed by Ningde Amperex Technology Limited, Fujian, China, on July 30, for 'electrode assembly, battery, and electric device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An electrode assembly, a battery, and an electric device. The electrode assembly comprises a first electrode plate, a separator and a second electrode plate which are arranged in sequence; and the electrode assembly further comprises a tab, a first insulating layer and a second insulating layer, wherein the first electrode plate comprises a first current collector and a first active material layer coated on two sides of the first current collector; the first active material layer is provided with a tab groove in which the tab is arranged; at least one surface of the first active material layer is provided with a thinning region in communication with the tab groove, and the thinning region comprises a first recess spaced apart from the tab groove in a first direction and a second recess arranged between the first recess and the tab groove; the first insulating layer is arranged in the second recess; and the second insulating layer is connected to the side of the second plate facing the first recess, and the projection of the second insulating layer in the first direction is located in the first recess. The electrode assembly can improve the energy density of the battery and reduce the risk of lithium precipitation."
