MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514076828 A) filed by Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha, Aichi, Japan, on Aug. 12, 2025, for 'electrical storage device and method of detecting impact load input to electrical storage device.'

Inventor(s) include Manabu Sasaki.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An electrical storage device includes a plurality of battery cells; a battery case that houses the battery cells; and an impact detection unit which is disposed relative to a wall portion configuring a part of the battery case, the impact detection unit includes conductive members that are disposed so as to overlap with the battery cells as viewed from a predetermined direction and that have a predetermined voltage applied to them, and the impact detection unit includes a cover that is made of an insulator and that covers parts of the conductive members which overlap with the wall portion and parts of the conductive members which overlap with the battery cells as viewed from the predetermined direction."
