MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411075252 A) filed by Luminous Power Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Gurugram, Haryana, on Oct. 4, 2024, for 'electrical protection circuit for solar charge controllers.'
Inventor(s) include Kumar, Sanjeev; Mishra, Kanika; and Arya, Tanmay.
The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a protection circuit (202) for a solar charge controller (200, 212). The protection circuit (202) comprises a fuse (220) connected in series between a solar panel (204) and a battery (206), a semiconductor switch (222) connected in parallel between the solar panel (204) and the battery (206), and a microcontroller (224). The microcontroller (224) is configured to determine occurrence of an anomaly in operation of one or more of the battery (206) and at least one MOSFET (208, 210) used for controlling charging of the battery (206) and preventing flow of reverse current from the battery (206) to the solar panel (204). The microcontroller (224) closes the semiconductor switch (222) to allow flow of current between terminals of the battery (206) via the fuse (220), causing the fuse (220) to blow, thereby breaking an electrical connection between the solar panel (204) and the battery (206)."
