MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441015048 A) filed by Turbo Energy Private Limited, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 29, 2024, for 'electric wastegate actuator system for turbocharger.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. D. A. Subramani; Mr. R. Gopinathan; Mr. M. Sundareswar; and Mrs. Susanna Paul.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 5, under issue no. 36/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses an electric wastegate actuator system (1000) for a turbocharger, comprising a housing (1) secured with an installation space and comprises of a motor (2a) with a top end (100) and bottom end (200), secured with a rubber motor holder (4), and the gearbox (500) secured with a planetary gear train (14) comprises of an output gear (12b), a motor holder (4) for motor stability, a 10 mechanical stopper (1b) for the output gear (12b), a compound gear (15), a compound pinion (15a) for power transmission, a sun gear (13a) transmits torque to planet gears (25) that orbit around it and mesh with an outer ring gear (26), a magnet (12a) and sector shaft (12c) are over-molded into the output gear (12b), a lower housing (10) accommodates bearings, a sealing element and the gearbox 15 (500) securely incorporated within the actuator for a turbocharger."
