MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514042880 A) filed by Lin, Jhe-Yi, New Taipei City, Taiwan, on May 2, 2025, for 'electric vehicle fire extinguishing device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An electric vehicle fire extinguishing device includes a structural cavity channel formed within a battery compartment of the electric vehicle, and a connector extended the channel to a surface of a vehicle body structure. In one example, the connector is connected to a corresponding connector, a pipeline, a control panel, and a fire extinguishing agent external supply unit outside the vehicle. A detector sends a signal to the control panel in an event of sensing a fire, and a fire extinguishing agent pipe valve is opened automatically to release an agent inside. In another example, the connector is connected to a corresponding connector, a pipeline, and a fire extinguishing water source external supply unit outside the vehicle, and a fire extinguishing water source pipeline is opened manually to release a water source inside."
