MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611007389 A) filed by Motorama Ev Private Limited, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Jan. 25, for 'electric motor with air-admitting external ribs.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is an electric motor comprising a casing defining an enclosed internal environment, a stator assembly disposed within the enclosed internal environment of the casing, said stator assembly comprising a central bore, and a shaft rotatably supported within the casing and extending through the central bore of the stator assembly. The electric motor further comprises a plurality of external ribs formed on and protruding radially outwardly from an external surface of the casing, each external rib comprising a plurality of perforations. Each perforation comprises a first section having a first diameter, a second section having a second diameter equal to the first diameter, and a third section extending between the first section and the second section, said third section having a diameter lesser than the first diameter and the second diameter, whereby ambient air passes through the plurality of perforations into the casing and enables dissipation of heat generated within the enclosed internal environment."
