MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517047416 A) filed by Sun Scientific, Inc., Dobbs Ferry, U.S.A., on May 16, for 'elastic-inelastic therapeutic compression apparatus, system and methods of use.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An inventive therapeutic compression apparatus for a body limb including at least one wrap having an inelastic portion with a static stiffness index of at least about 10 and an elastic portion configured to secure and conform the at least one wrap to the body limb. The at least one wrap may include at least one bladder configured to apply gradient compression or pressure onto the limb as well as a universal inflation port capable of connecting to both static and intermittent inflation means and includes a sealing means configured to include an open position and a closed position wherein the closed position maintains the at least one bladder in an inflated or deflated state and is in the open position when coupled to the inflation means so that the at least one bladder is the same inflation state as the inflation means."
