MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133966 A) filed by Dr. Mahalingam College Of Engineering And Technology, Pollachi, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 31, 2025, for 'efficient heat recovery in solar thermal collector for water using serpentine pattern configuration.'
Inventor(s) include J. Venkatesh; Rama Thirumurugan; and D. Nathan.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The method of efficient heat recovery in a solar thermal collector for water heating using a serpentine pattern configuration is the subject of the invention. Solar thermal collectors, which frequently have higher losses, use circular receiver tubes to heat water. By using a receiver tube arrangement with a serpentine pattern, these losses can be minimised and solar thermal collectors' efficiency can be increased. By enhancing heat transmission, expanding the heat transfer area, and maintaining consistent heating throughout the collector, this invention raises collector efficiency. The innovations lengthen the fluid's residence period and lessen tube fouling."
