MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441015612 A) filed by Abhishek Vorey; and Srinivas Vorey, Hyderabad, Telangana, on March 2, 2024, for 'edible cutlery with encapsulated soup powder for instant soup activation.'

The soup powder is enclosed within an encapsulation layer that dissolves in hot water, ensuring controlled release. Various encapsulation techniques are utilized, including seaweed-based transparent films, soft gelatin coatings, spray-dried coatings, electrostatic spray coatings, fluidized bed coatings, lipid-based coatings, biodegradable polymer coatings, and microencapsulation methods. The method of manufacturing includes blending, molding, baking, and encapsulating the soup powder before vacuum-sealing for preservation. The invention provides a sustainable and biodegradable alternative to plastic cutlery, enhancing user convenience while promoting eco-friendly practices. It offers an innovative, cost-effective, and practical solution for integrating edible utensils with instant soup preparation."
