MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531011925 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 12, for 'edge shaping device for wooden planks.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An edge shaping device for wooden planks, comprising an elongated plate 101 configured with a C-shaped handle 102 gripped by user to position plate 101 over edge of wooden plank to be shaped, a touch interactive display panel 103 mapped over plate 101 receives user input regarding angle at which edge to be shaped, an imaging unit 104 installed over plate 101 determines dimensions of edge, a motorized sliding unit 201 installed at bottom portion of plate 101 and configured with multiple blades 106 translate blades 106 to regulate blades 106 distance, a motorized ball and socket joint 202 installed between each blades 106 and sliding unit 201 orient blades 106 at user-specified angle, a hydraulic link 107 installed between each motorized ball and socket joints 202 and blades 106 apply force over edge, user drag the blades 106 over edge for cutting the edge and shaping in accordance with user-specified angle."
