MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631031259 A) filed by Narula Institute Of Technology, Kolkata, West Bengal, on March 16, for 'edge-intelligent iot-based remote ecg/eeg analysis system.'
Inventor(s) include Ms. Suseta Datta; Dr. Parthasarathi De; Dr. Sudakshina Mandal; Mr. Avishek Nath; Dr. Paramita Sarkar; Mr. Krishna Kumar Jha; Mr. Tridib Chakraborty; and Ms. Sayanti Mukherjee.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An Edge-Intelligent IoT-Based Remote ECG/EEG Analysis System (EI-IREAS) is disclosed for the continuous monitoring of cardiac and neurological signals in remote or low-connectivity environments. The system includes ECG and EEG sensing units coupled to an edge computing unit that performs localized signal preprocessing, feature extraction, and abnormal pattern detection. By processing data at the edge, the system eliminates the need for continuous cloud connectivity, thereby reducing latency and bandwidth consumption. A secure local storage unit archives data during network outages, while a communication unit transmits prioritized alerts upon detecting medical emergencies. The invention provides a resilient, secure, and efficient solution for real-time health monitoring in geographically isolated regions."
