MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631029217 A) filed by Narula Institute Of Technology, Kolkata, West Bengal, on March 11, for 'econix plantcare: a smart agriculture through ai-based plant health management.'
Inventor(s) include Pranab Hazra; Priyanka Bhadra; Sayak Mukherjee; Srijeeta Goswami; Soham Ganguly; Muskan Deep; and Arijeet Das.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention discloses a fully integrated, AI-powered closed-loop system for automated phytopathological management. It combines a software platform using generative AI for high-fidelity plant disease diagnosis with a Wi-Fi-enabled, ESP32-based hardware dosing unit. The AI model analyzes plant images to determine specific diseases and calculates precise treatment dosages. This data is transmitted wirelessly to the hardware, which selectively activates peristaltic pumps to dispense the exact volume of the required chemical from separate reservoirs. By bridging the gap between intelligent diagnosis and precision dosing, the system eliminates human subjectivity, minimizes chemical waste, and provides a sustainable, end-to-end framework for maintaining crop health in agricultural environments."
