MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421015079 A) filed by Asian Paints Limited, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, on Feb. 29, 2024, for 'eco-friendly tiles adhesive composition and method of preparation.'
Inventor(s) include Shankarappa, Prasannakumara; Patil, Mukesh; and Haldar, Avik.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 5, under issue no. 36/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The disclosure provides a tile adhesive comprising: (a) a blend of 2.5 to 23% by weight of Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS) with respect to the 5 composition, 2.5 to 24% by weight of Fly Ash with respect to the composition, and 20 to 24% by weight of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) with respect to the composition; (b) at least one thickener; and (c) at least one viscosity modifier. The present disclosure also provides a method of preparing the tile adhesive composition as disclosed herein. The present disclosure further provides a method 10 of installing ceramic or vitrified tiles on a surface by applying the tile adhesive composition as disclosed herein."
