MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013482 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 24, 2024, for 'eco-friendly food grilling device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An eco-friendly food grilling device, comprises of a frame 1 having a first and second portion developed to be positioned on a fixed surface, a first grilling plate 5 integrated in between the spherical assembly 4 for accommodating food items which are to be grilled, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 6 installed at the second portion to determine kind of the accommodated food items, a second grilling plate 7 arranged with the first grilling plate 5 via a motorized hinge for tilting the second grilling plate 7 over the first grilling plate 5, a heating coil 11 installed within the container 2 to produce heat radiations for cooking the accommodated food items, and a color sensor integrated on the second portion for detecting color of the food items while being cooked."
