Inventor(s) include V, Priyadharshini; Dr. R. Jagadeesan; Dr. T. Ramesh; Dr. S. Rathika; Dr. M. Ramasamy; S. Kiruthika; S Indumathi; K. S. Shanmugam; Dr. R. Anburaj; and Dr. L. Ramkumar.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present study developed environment-friendly and effective floor cleaners using citrus peels by the process of Microbial fermentation. Citrus peels from local source were mixed with molasses, baker's yeast and non-chlorinated water and co-culture submerged fermented at 25-35 C for 60days. The fermented mixture is filtered to obtain a bio-enzyme solution after fermentation. The analysis of enzymatic activity such as amylase and protease necessitates application of the microbial tendency media. Assessment on the cleaning power of disinfected floor is caused by the bacterial load before and after the application. The composition is highly potent in antibacterial and detergency and can convert biodegradable agricultural residues to value-added product. Thus green waste management and a cheap green solvent have been established, also having no toxicological risks of consequence for users from the universal basics of green chemistry and sustainable microbial technology."
