MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010735 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 15, 2024, for 'eatable grating assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An eatable grating assistive device, comprising a dome-shaped body 1 installed with a handle 2 accessed by user for gripping body 1, a microphone 3 for receiving voice commands of user regarding portion of an eatable to be grated, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 for detecting dimension of eatable present in proximity to body 1, multiple suction units 5 installed within body 1 for acquiring a grip over eatable which is positioned by user within body 1 to perform grating from exposed end of eatable over an auxiliary grater in order to grate eatable, an ultrasonic sensor installed on peripheral portion of body 1 and synced with imaging unit 4 for detecting length of exposed end while the eatable is being grated and in case the monitored length exceeds/recedes a threshold length, and a speaker 7 for producing an audio notification regarding removal of eatable from body 1."
