MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311088281 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 22, 2023, for 'dynamic piezo-electric based electricity generation device.'
Inventor(s) include Er. Amit Kumar; Nitin Arora; and Sakshi.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A dynamic piezo-electric based electricity generation device, comprises of a bell-shaped body 1 developed to be installed at different locations for being struck by people, plurality of boxes 2 assembled on each side of the bell shaped body 1 that receives mechanical vibrations produced due to the striking of bell-shaped body 1, plurality of piezoelectric plates 3 arranged within each of the boxes 2 for harnessing the mechanical vibrations, a pair of electric wires 4 connected at the terminals of the piezoelectric plates 3 for harnessing voltage generated due to said potential difference at the ends of the piezoelectric plates 3, and an AC-DC converter arranged on the bell shaped body 1 for converting the harnessed alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC)."
