MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122946 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'dynamic analysis system for composite sandwich structures with honeycomb core under seawater exposure.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Manoharan R; and Mr. Susindhar Sundar.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a composite sandwich structure analysis system (300) including a material characterization module (302) with a thermoplastic polyurethane honeycomb core (304) having triangular cellular geometry, a glass fiber reinforced polymer faceplate (306), and a Gibson Ashby calculator (308) for processing material properties. The system (300) includes a numerical analysis module (310) with an ANSYS Workbench (312) providing finite element analysis, an ACP preprocessor (314), and a modal analyzer (316) for extracting natural frequencies and mode shapes. An experimental testing module (318) includes VARTM fabrication (320), a saltwater immersion chamber (322), and a hammer impact tester (324). An environmental exposure controller (326) connects to the saltwater immersion chamber (322), and a frequency response database (328) receives data from both the modal analyzer (316) and hammer impact tester (324) for correlation between numerical predictions and experimental measurements."
