MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122974 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'dynamic analysis method for carbon fiber reinforced composite sandwich plates after saltwater immersion.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Manoharan R; and Mr. Aravindhan P R.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a method (100) for dynamic analysis of carbon fiber reinforced composite sandwich plates after saltwater immersion. The method includes providing a carbon fiber reinforced composite sandwich plate specimen with a honeycomb core structure sandwiched between carbon fiber face sheets (step 101), applying Gibson-Ashby numerical formulations to calculate orthotropic elastic constants of the honeycomb core (step 103), generating an equivalent material properties matrix for finite element analysis based on the calculated orthotropic elastic constants (step 105A), executing modal analysis using ANSYS Workbench with predetermined boundary conditions selected from cantilever configuration and fixed-fixed configuration (step 107A, step 107B, step 108A, step 108B), and extracting natural frequencies and corresponding mode shapes from simulation results to evaluate dynamic characteristics of the sandwich plate specimen after saltwater immersion (step 109A, step 109B, step 109C, step 109D)."
