MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012986 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'dust collection device for grinding operations.'

Inventor(s) include Vivek Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A dust collection device for grinding operations, comprises of a cuboidal body 1 positioned on a fixed surface placed with a wooden workpiece over which a user is required to perform grinding operation, an ultrasonic sensor to detect dimension of workpiece, a pair of extendable plates 2 enclose the workpiece and a pair of motorized hinges 3 configured between the body 1 and plates 2 for tilting the plates 2 in view of enclosing the workpiece from front and side portions, a suction unit 4 to collect the dust and transfer into a dust collection pad, a dust sensor to detect level of dust into surrounding, a pivot joint 7 configured with a rectangular member 6 to deploy and a display screen to display the images of workpiece."
