MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004418 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 22, 2024, for 'dust collection device for floor cleaning.'
Inventor(s) include Deepa Kumari.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A dust collection device for floor cleaning, comprising a U-shaped body 1 attached with a handle 2 via an L-shaped telescopically operated rod 3 that is to be positioned on a ground surface in proximity to dust to be collected, a push- button 4 pressed by user for extending/retracting rod 3, a microcontroller linked with button 4 that activates a camera 5 installed on handle 2 for detecting user's height upon detecting pressing of button 4, a pair of plates 6 attached with side walls of body 1 via a pair of rack and pinion gear arrangement 7 and connected with each other via a primary flap 8 for translating plates 6 towards dust, a pair of motorized hinges 9 attached for tilting primary flap 8, and a secondary flap 11 attached with plate 6 via a motorized slider 12 for dragging and discarding dust in trash can."
