MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517097788 A) filed by Vitro Flat Glass Llc, Cheswick, U.S.A., on Oct. 10, for 'durable coated article having a metal layer.'
Inventor(s) include Griffin, Maryanne; and Smith, Jessica.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A coated article includes a substrate and a functional coating applied over at least a portion of the substrate, the functional coating including: a first layer over the substrate; a seed layer over the first layer, the seed layer selected from the group consisting of titanium, titanium aluminum, niobium, titanium niobium, stainless steel, mixtures thereof, alloys thereof, and combinations thereof; a metallic layer over the seed layer; a primer layer over the metallic layer, the primer layer selected from the group consisting of titanium, titanium aluminum, niobium, titanium niobium, nickel chromium, stainless steel, mixtures thereof, alloys thereof, and combinations thereof; and a second layer over the primer layer. A method of making the coated article, a method of reducing haze in a coated article, a method of protecting a metallic layer in a coated article, an insulating glass unit, and a windshield are also provided."
The patent application was internationally filed on Apr. 18, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/025145.
