MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641018716 A) filed by Dr. Moganesh G, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 19, for 'dual-safety vehicle protection system integrating shock absorber collision bumper with gear-controlled rebound and sensor-activated sledding door for occupant and pedestrian safety.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Moganesh G.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Dual-Safety Vehicle Protection System Integrating Shock Absorber Collision Bumper with Gear-Controlled Rebound and Sensor-Activated Sledding Door for Occupant and Pedestrian Safety The present invention relates to a dual-safety vehicle protection system that simultaneously safeguards both occupants and pedestrians during collisions. The system comprises a shock absorber collision bumper integrated with a gear-controlled rebound mechanism that absorbs frontal impact energy and provides controlled reverse motion to minimize structural damage and occupant injury. Complementing this, a sensor-activated sledding door mechanism detects pedestrians in real time and deploys a sliding panel to deflect them away from the vehicle's path, significantly reducing the risk of run-over injuries. Unlike conventional crumple zones and airbag-based pedestrian protection systems, the invention is resettable, reusable, and modular, making it suitable for passenger vehicles, electric vehicles, autonomous platforms, and light commercial vehicles. This integrated solution offers a low-cost, scalable, and first-of-its-kind approach to dual safety in automotive engineering."
