MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122984 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'dual-band circularly polarized microstrip patch antenna with cpw feed.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Avinash Chandra; Mr. V Varun; and Mr. Kishore N.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a dual-band circularly polarized microstrip patch antenna comprising a dielectric substrate having first and second opposite surfaces, a radiating patch element on the first surface comprising asymmetrical geometric perturbations configured to excite orthogonal electromagnetic modes with 90-degree phase difference for circular polarization, a ground plane on the second surface, and a coplanar waveguide feed structure integrated with the radiating patch element for electromagnetic coupling. The antenna operates in dual frequency bands comprising S-band (2.56 to 3.69 GHz) and X-band (8.05 to 9.10 GHz) frequency ranges, exhibiting circular polarization characteristics with axial ratio below 3 dB in both frequency ranges."
