MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024705 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 27, 2024, for 'drowning prevention device.'
Inventor(s) include Kanchan; and Dr. Jaggi Lal.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A drowning prevention device, comprising a cuboidal body 1 installed on side portion of water vehicle 10 and housed with a first-roller wrapped with a net-shaped member 3, an L-shaped rod 4 installed with the body 1 and suspend with a hook via string 5 attached with free-end of the member 3, a user-interface installed in a computing unit wirelessly associated with the device to get input commands, an imaging unit 6 mounted on the body 1 for detecting distance of person from the body 1, a motorized slider 7 installed on the rod 4 and attached with free-end of string 5 to unwrap the member 3 to laid over water surface to accommodate the person, an inflatable unit 8 configured with the member for floating the unit by filling air, a BLDC motor coupled with the first roller 2 for wrapping the member 3 to rescue the person."
