MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010374 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'driver assistance device for four-wheeler vehicle.'

Inventor(s) include Nitish Sharma; Dr. Sukhpreet Kaur; and Parneet Kaur.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A driver assistance device for four-wheeler vehicle, comprising an elongated body 1 carved with a groove accommodated over a steering wheel, a microphone 2 accessed by user to give voice commands for securing body 1, an ultrasonic sensor detects thickness of steering wheel, and accordingly multiple links 3 extend, an electromagnetic spring configured with each clamps 4 to compress for securing body 1 with wheel, two L-shaped telescopically operated rods 5 extends in accordance to distance of body 1 from dashboard for adhering a suction cup attached with each rods 5 on dashboard, a sound sensor detects honking in proximity to vehicle, a speaker 7 notifies user to take control of steering wheel, a camera 8 detects surroundings to be crowded, and accordingly speaker 7 notifies driver to control steering vehicle and actuates rods 5 to retract for allowing driver to control steering wheel."
