MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006627 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 31, 2024, for 'double-layered resting assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Sukhmani Sandhu; Gurleen Kaur; and Arin Dhotra.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A double-layered resting assistive device comprises of a frame 1 installed on a ground surface, multiple omnidirectional wheels 2 for providing movement to frame 1 over ground surface, a primary 3 and secondary rectangular plate 4 for providing a resting platform to users, a set of telescopic bars 7 provides support to each of plates 3, 4, a suction unit 8 for stabilizing platform over surface and allowing users to layover plates 3, 4, an imaging unit 9 for determining physical state of users, a robotic arm 10 for positioning electronic gadget within a storage box 11, a photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor for determining blood flow of users and based on which the microcontroller actuates ball and socket joints 5, 6 for providing a tilting movement to plates 3, 4 in order to normalize blood flow, and preventing any chances of sleep paralysis on users."
