MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521047844 A) filed by Manish Jain, Pune, Maharashtra, on May 17, for 'double deck canister for oxygen and moisture absorption for pharmaceutical packaging.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a double deck canister for simultaneous oxygen and moisture absorption. It includes a first compartment, a second compartment, an EVOH-PP barrier layer, a first dual-thread screw cap and a second dual-thread screw cap. The first dual-thread cap has a micro-perforated PP mesh with asymmetrically distributed pores of size 5-10 m. The second dual thread screw cap is non-perforated PP composition to avoid any dust spillage from the canister. The first dual thread screw cap includes a tamper-evident breakaway strip. The first and second compartments have a snap-fit design, allowing refilling of the compartments with oxygen and moisture absorbers respectively. The material used for the double deck canister is regulatory compliant and therefore is suitable for pharmaceutical packaging."
