MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517056452 A) filed by PK Med, Paris, on June 12, for 'dosage form for local injection comprising eltrombopag for use in the treatment of degenerative diseases and in the improvement of stem cell homing.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a controlled release pharmaceutical composition comprising at least a controlled release pharmaceutical dosage form comprising EPAG, wherein it is suitable for its local injection at an affected site. The present invention also relates to a controlled release pharmaceutical composition under the form of a powder, and a kit comprising, an aqueous injection vehicle and a controlled release dosage form, or a mixture of controlled and immediate release dosage forms comprising EPAG, wherein the pharmaceutical composition optionally comprises an excipient, for preparing a pharmaceutical composition suitable for its local injection. This composition is useful for local injection in a patient for improving the homing of stem cells, and/or for treating non- malignant blood disorders, malignant hemopathies, primary immunodeficiencies, autoimmune diseases, inborn errors of metabolism, and/or degenerative diseases/injuries."
