MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511123846 A) filed by Ashwani Tomar; and Madhu, New Delhi, on Dec. 9, 2025, for 'domestic air-cooling system using dual cooling - evaporative and cooling coil based dehumidification technology.'

Inventor(s) include Ashwani Tomar; and Madhu.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a domestic air cooler employing dual cooling technology that combines evaporative cooling with mechanical refrigeration within a single compact appliance. The cooler comprises a housing with at least one honeycomb pad wall supplied with recirculated water to provide a first stage of evaporative pre-cooling of incoming ambient air. A cooling coil of a sealed vapour-compression refrigeration circuit is mounted between evaporative pas and blower/fan so that the pre-cooled, moisture-laden air passes across the coil surface maintained at about 4 C. Contact with the coil removes latent moisture and further reduces the dry-bulb temperature, thereby delivering cooler, drier supply air compared with conventional desert coolers. A top-mounted condenser with an exhaust fan rejects heat to ambient. The system avoids chilling water, instead directly dehumidifying the air stream, which improves thermal comfort, reduces corrosion and mould growth, and achieves higher sensible cooling efficiency in hot and humid climates."
