MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024000 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'dog restraining assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A dog restraining assistive device, comprising a ring-shaped body 1 installed with an inflatable member 2 and a string 3 to be installed on a dog's neck, a microphone 4 for receiving voice commands for securing body 1 with dog's neck, a laser acuity sensor positioned on body 1 for detecting dimensions of dog's neck, an air compressor 10 for inflating member 2 to grip dog's neck, an imaging unit 5 for detecting location of dog's mouth portion, a pair of motorized hinges 7 for aligning a pair of telescopically operated links 11 to accommodate a conical-shaped unit 6 with mouth portion, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting distance of dog from user, a primary motorized roller 8 for wrapping string 3 to restrain dog, and a secondary motorized roller 9 for wrapping a strap 12 around neck of dog aiding user in controlling the dog."
