MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023504 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 25, 2024, for 'document photocopying assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A document photocopying assistive device, comprising an L-shaped frame 1 arranged with a side portion of a printer having a plate 2 attached with a U-shaped to be placed with a document in a vertical orientation, a proximity sensor detects presence of document in member 3, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 detects text written on document, a gripper 5 grips and adjusts document on platen on printer, a speaker for notifying user to give input for photocopying document, an extendable platform 6 via a pair of rods 7 for collecting printed paper coming out from printer, an ultrasonic sensor assembled on platform 6 detects dimensions of paper, a drawer arrangement assembled within platform 6 to extend platform 6 in order to properly accommodate paper and a roller 8 arranged with platform 6 via an L-shaped link 9 to retract for positioning roller 8 in contact with paper."
