MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441022736 A) filed by Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute For Medical Sciences And Technology, Trivandrum, Kerala, on March 23, 2024, for 'dissolvable microneedle for transdermal drug delivery and method of preparation thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Shiny Velayndhan; and Deepu Damodharan Ragini.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "In an embodiment, the present disclosure relates to a dissolvable microneedle comprising (a) a biocompatible water-soluble crystalline polymer; (b) a biocompatible water-soluble amorphous polymer; (c) Poloxamer; and (d) an active agent. The dissolvable microneedle has a base and a penetrating tip. The present disclosure also relates to the method of preparation of dissolvable microneedles."
