MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641042509 A) filed by Nitte, Mangaluru, Karnataka, on April 2, for 'disposable multi-well fungal slide culture device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Vimal Kumar Karnaker; Dr. Asem Ali Ashraf; Dr. Athira Raveendran; and Suhana Nair.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a disposable multi-well fungal slide culture device (100) comprises a base unit (102) in a predefined dimensions configured to provide structural support to the device (100), a plurality of culture cavities (104) in a predefined dimensions configured to provide fungal growth, a top cover (106) configured to create sealed environment for fungal growth, a front and rare surface (108) configured to allow exposure of vertical surface, an array of micro pores (110) configured to provide gas exchange and maintain contamination free environment. The device (100) may include the predefined dimensions of the base unit (102) is 76 mm in length, 26 mm in breadth and 4 mm in height. The device (100) may include, the plurality of culture cavities (104) comprises fungal agar growth media, selected from Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) with chloramphenicol, potato dextrose agar (PDA) and Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) with cycloheximide."
