MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511109394 A) filed by Sanat Gulati, New Delhi, on Nov. 11, 2025, for 'disposable multi-layer absorbent towel with fabric-like exterior and fluid containment barrier for hygienic containment of high volume oral fluid discharge.'
Inventor(s) include Sanat Gulati.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Public spitting of high-volume oral fluids leads to stains, odour, and disease spread. Existing tissues, towels or napkins exhibit insufficient absorbency and cannot contain excessive fluid, leading to leakage and unhygienic practices. The present invention provides a disposable, multi-layer absorbent towel configured for the hygienic collection, absorption, and containment of high-volume oral fluid discharges such as betel, tobacco, paan spit, mucus, or sputum. The towel comprises a fabric-like exterior for user comfort, an internal absorbent core composed of hydrophilic materials selected from natural fibres, regenerated fibres, super-absorbent polymers, or their combinations that are able to form a secure fluid containment barrier, an optional odour control and/or antibacterial layer. The invention addresses sanitation and civic hygiene by enabling a clean, odor-free, and responsible containment and disposal of such oral fluid discharges."
